Thanksgiving 2008

Fall was in the air! Had to start the Thanksgiving pictures with this first one of Jake...isn't he the cutest little boy you have ever seen! Anyway, a big thanks goes out to Ben and Steve for hosting such a beautiful Thanksgiving! What a gorgeous home they have made for themselves. Everyone ate lots of Turkey and enjoyed chatting and catching up with family we don't always get a chance to see. Of course the day turned into night and everyone started playing the dice game! We all had such a wonderful time!

How a year changes things! If you have followed my blog since last year you will see an adorable picture with all my children together in "one shot"! Well, kids are getting older and our life is getting crazier! Bailey had her own agenda this year. First it was the school dance, next the school haunted house and then a get together at her friend Chloe's house with all of her girlfriends. So the best I could do for pictures with her was before school and at pick up time at 9:30 pm at Chloe's house. Then Parker, well he had spent the night at his dad's house the night before so I didn't see him till after school. Then we trick o' treating with the little ones and I didn't want him to wear his "Joker" make-up cause I didn't want Peyton to get scared. So I got pics of Parker with half of his costume. As for Peyton, well she has been sick ALL week with mommy and daddy having no sleep for nights on end and luckily I was able to dress her up Friday and take some pics at home before we left. SOOO, what I am trying to say is "A year definitely changes EVERYTHING so we have to enjoy each and everyday!" I am so blessed with three beautiful children and they just KEEP growing and I'm SAD!!!

REMEMBER THESE DAY! I remember them like they were yesterday! I had so much fun with my friends at Halloween. Those were the days when friends are more important and social gatherings were the excitement. Mom and Dad are "NO" fun anymore!!! This Bailey, (rotating left) Cassidy, Maddy, Bridget, Chloe, Addi (on bed), Emily and Taylor. They all are so close. And there are even two missing from the pics that already went home...sorry Cayla and Victoria....we love you too!

BORN TO DANCE!

God gave my children a very natural talent to dance. Parker is a unbelievable dancer and Peyton walks around daily on her tip toes! I decided that it was important to enhance their natural talents and get them some proper training. Parker is now taking Hip Hop and Peyton is taking Ballet/Tap. What fun! Parker had such a blast with all the "cool" music and a very talented instructor. And Peyton, well let's just say that it always takes her a while to warm up but I was pleasantly surprised that she participated. Miss Linda was very patient with her and half way through the class Peyton was having fun! She didn't want to leave when class was over. Just another little activity to add to my already crazy schedule. I will say that I do it to myself....I always sign up for too much and run around like a "looney" mom. Isn't that what it is all about?

Off to school that is! I finally managed to posts some new pictures. Kind of busy around here. We were thrilled to go Back to School, some more than others...ha ha! We are so happy to report that Bailey is loving 7th grade and Parker absolutely loves his 5th grade teacher! YEAH! And as for Peyton, she is getting use to being away from mommy and daddy at Southwest Preschool. She has actually started talking to the other children and looks forward to going to school now. Peyton is such a smartie! She told us the story about Adam and Eve and said if you disobey God like they did you would go in "Timeout"! So cute how they explain things! We are very grateful to have her in a Christian environment...it makes a Big difference!

Our Big Sis has an Agent!

Yes, we are so excited Bailey is going to be doing some modeling! The story goes like this if you haven't already heard it. When Bailey was around 4 years old I was approached by an agent that wanted to sign her for some print work. At that time I was going through some difficulties in my life and it wasn't possible to add one more added stress. I have told the story time and time again and Bailey has said that she couldn't believe I didn't do it. SOOOO, I told Bailey when she is ready to model and she makes the decision and of course when we get the time I will research different agents. So, all the above happened and we were fortunate to get signed with a very reputable agency in Palm Springs. She had her interview with the agency and it went "more" than well. She is so grown up and presented herself unbelievably great! I was told to be quiet during the interview, which as you know was very difficult for me. The agent is very particular who she signs and not only do the have to have the looks, the height and all but very importantly they have to be able to communicate well. This agent is also a SAG agent which means she cannot work unless she has good grades in school. She has to have a work permit and the only way is to have the schools approval. We will keep you updated with what jobs she gets so you can look for her pictures. She might be the next "Hannah Montana"....ha ha!

When Joe saw the pictures, this one really scared him. He said she looked 20 years old. During the photo shoot they wanted her to look a wide range of ages so that she can do a variety of work. Although, Bailey is blessed with beauty more than that her heart is in the right place and she is a wonderful young lady. She has the most caring heart and is an "old soul"! She is very excited for this new experience.

40/40/80 Party

We just got back from Arizona celebrating our families birthdays. Joe's sister Sue and Steve's partner Ben put together a fabulous party for Hub, Mark and Pops. Hub turned 40, Mark 40 and Pops 80! How ironic is that! I can't take credit for the details but it was given by all the Dahlstrom children at our club, Western Skies, in Gilbert, AZ. We had an AWESOME time. There were casino poker tables, bouncy houses, snow cone machine, cotton candy machine....great food, a DJ and lots of FUN, FAMILY and FRIENDS!

Parker, definitely has to be the winner of the dance competion! So the "BEST DANCER" award would go to him. That boy has some skills and I am proud to say he is my child. He had a blast showing off!!!

The "Movie Star" award goes to Bailey and Addi (Bailey's BFF). It was great having little Miss Addi there. She became part of the family! The girls are both 12 years old but were the beverage cart girls for the golf tournament that weekend. They couldn't stop talking about it. It was funny too. We had gotten two suites at Tapitio cliffs and they had claimed one of the suites as there own. Of course it was connected to ours but they felt all grown up!

The Dave and Buster's official winner's were Mark, Susan, Ben, Nancy and Kaley. The MVP of that group goes to Ben. At the end of the tournament Ben pulled out not 1, not 2, but 3 stuffed animals out of the Claw machine....IS that even possible....I guess so cause it happened!!! They split $120 dollars. If you don't know the Dahlstrom family yet, EVERYTHING is a competion!!!

Here is a picture of most of the girls that played in the competion. From left to right, Nancy, Susan, Me, MaryBeth and Joe's sister Sue. We had a lot of fun. Not very sure if we even know how to play pool that well but I guess we all look good doing it!

Here is the "WHOLE GANG"! When we get together it is definitely going to be a great time! This family is competive, loving, hilarious (Steve), sweet and welcoming and I am so grateful to be a part!

I wanted to also share a picture of "THE ORIGINALS"! From left to right Mikey, my husband Joe, Sue, Steve and Mark. What a great looking group of kids. Joanie and Pops you did a great job raising these knuckle heads....ha ha! Just kidding, they are beautiful people with big hearts and I am proud to say that I was lucky enough to call one of them mine!! A BIG thank you goes out to All of them for making me a part of their family!!!

I wanted to share one last picture. This is Susan (Ben's cousin), I was fortunate to spend some more time with her this trip and I have to say that she is one of the most caring individuals I have ever met! She played with my children all weekend, she ran to Walmart to get me medicine for my very nasty infection that was going on on my lip, she and Ben treated Bailey and Addi to pedicures. Susan thank you from the bottom of my heart for being sooooo sweet! It was a joy spending more time with you and look forward to future visits.

4 YEARS of complete BLISS!

Okay maybe not complete bliss but I will say this is the happiest I have been in my life. My whole circle is complete! Joe and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary in Sedona this year. I had never been to Sedona, AZ so we thought we would enjoy some of the cool weather up there. It is absolutely breathtaking. We went on an amazing hike with gorgeous views. Now, as beautiful as it is up there the very best part of the trip was on the way up. Joe had a gift for me that was a surprise. He had wrote a song for me and had his brother record it. When we were in the mountains far enough and there was no radio reception he said he wanted to play something for me that I really might enjoy. And then, he played my song called "Amy Baby"! WOW....I was in tears and I cannot even explain how much it meant to me. I wish everyone could hear it, and if I knew how to download it to my blog I would share it. THE SONG WAS SOOOO incredibly special!!!! THE VERY BEST GIFT I HAVE EVER RECEIVED! Of course other that the 3 beautiful God given gifts, my children!!!

Peyton's 3rd Birthday

Here is our 3 year old "Little Princess". She has gotten so big and along side her is her favorite cousin and best buddy Jonah. They have spent lots of time together and they love each other so much.

Peyton had her 3rd Birthday Party at Chuck E Cheese this year. We had a nice surprise when my mom arrived with the "Fairy Princess" costume and Bailey dressed as "Belle". Peyton had told all of us that we needed to dress for the "Princesses Party", which would be her. She continued to tell her Daddy that he needed to dress like the "Prince" and he needed to dance with her at the party. At the party she noticed that some of us didn't follow through with the costumes. We thought she would forget.....BUT of course children never forget! Anyway, we were so happy that the Dahlstrom family came all the way from Phoenix to join us. We had a wonderful time!

Huntington Beach Summer 2008

Here is Parker, looks like the budman had too much sun! The girls all just finished burying him in the sand and he plopped out of it! Of course I wanted the picture of him under the sand...those are the ones we moms want but as you can see in this picture he said "Mom hurry up and take the picture"! I am a picture fanatic, I think we all are when our kids are growing up. Sorry Parker you will appreciate it later!!

This is my niece Kaley and my sister-in-law Amy. Thanks Amy for making the vacation a blast. She is a witty girl and she constantly says things that crack us up! We had a lot of fun!

Yes, I was on this vacation! Here is one of the few pictures I have of Joe and I. Not happy that it happens to be a bikini shot but what can I say....we are at the beach I hope that I am in my bathing suit!!!

Here is Bailey and her friend Cayla. We were so happy to have her join us on our vacation. She was such a sweet girl and very helpful with Peyton. The girls were water "bugs" the whole time!

Little MISS SURFER GIRL, okay so it's in sand but I had to share this picture. The breeze was just perfect and Peyton loved pretending on the boogie board.

We really enjoyed the week together with family!

Our big sis, "SURFER GIRL! It's amazing to see the span in ages of our two girls. Bailey loved boogie boarding while Peyton played in the sand. I was a nervous wreck when Bailey and her friend would go out and try to catch the waves. But we did park ourself right next to the lifeguard stand so that I knew they would be safe!

Peyton had so much fun playing in the sand. For the whole week that's what she wanted to do! She wasn't crazy about the going in the water but she loved the beach!

I am sorry there are no pictures with this post. I lost my camera. Peyton's 3rd Birthday party is approaching so if I don't find it before then I will have to buy a new one. Unfortunately the last pictures I took I never downloaded them to my computer...eeekk. Oh well, you live and learn!
So I will have some pictures from the our week at the beach coming soon, thanks to Amy (Mark's Amy) for having a camera.

Palm Spring Aerial Tram

Okay, so Sunday after church I had this brillant idea that we would take the kids up to the Palm Springs Tram, they had never been. It turned out to be such a wonderful day! We had so much fun we could not stop laughing!

Here is Joe and Parker showing their "HULK" muscles on top of this huge rock that they climbed up to. It is so funny cause the kids continue to ask Joe to make them laugh again. He always comes up with the craziest stuff and Bailey and Parker laugh so hard they almost pee their pants!!!

Here they all decided to act like they were rowing in the river. I could not stop taking pictures of them, they were sooo CUTE!

Here's Peyton with her first snowball! Okay half dirt and half snow but it was neat to see her enjoy making them for the first time! Of course they all started (due to my lovely husband) having a snow ball fight.

I thought this picture was funny. Bailey with her Roxy glasses and her fir lined coat and flip flops....it shows you how outdoorsy we really are! ha ha! Well we try to be a little adventurous!!

LOOK AT THE BEAUTIFUL BLUE SKY! It was about 60 degrees up there! Compared to the the 97 degrees it was in the desert that day it was pretty refreshing to breath in the cool air!

Last of all.....here is the Sis! She is such the model posing for us on this big tree that had fallen down. The park leaves things in their natural state so that they don't compromise the environment. They played on this tree for a long time and if I could share all the photos of all the cute poses I would but it would be pages and pages long!!

Beautiful Relaxing Hawaii!!

This is the night of our Luau! Of course you cannot leave Hawaii without attending one. We met some very nice people there. What an amazing show. Joe and I both enjoyed the fire part of it the best! I took some pictures but they didn't quite come out well, it was too dark. We had an awesome time! I wouldn't say that the food was our favorite but if you know Joe and I well enough, you know that we are not that into trying strange dishes!! This is one of the few pictures I was able to get of us together so I had to share it.

Our hotel (The Grand Wailea) could not be better! Behind me is our beach area connected to the resort. I am so happy that we chose such an amazing island and such a perfect resort being that it was our first visit to Hawaii.

This is a view looking right out of our room. The hotel had several pools. It was nice being that Joe and I went without kids they had pools dedicated for adults only!

It almost looks staged! But it is the real vegitation that grows naturally there! The plants are amazing. It couldn't be more BEAUTIFUL!

Our Arrival! We made it to the hotel and it couldn't be more outstanding! This is what everyone was talking about the breathtaking island of Maui!

The Bump and Grind!

Yep! That's what they call the hike, "the Bump and Grind!" Joe, my brother Mikey, Danielle and I went on the hike together. I was so proud of my husband for making it ALL the way to the top. He has been working out on a regular basis and trying to eat healthier. We have a lot of years to ENJOY so keep it up Joe I am so proud of you!

Okay Mikey put your shirt back on we know you have a great physique...ha ha! This is my brother Mikey and his wife Danielle. They made it up to the top the first round. Great job guys....that was a fun hike!!

Easter Fun!

Because we didn't have the kids for Easter until late in the day we did a little Easter egg hunt at our favorite park after Easter. We then were able to have some fun flying kites, playing basketball and hanging out with Joe's family during Spring Break. Thank you Steve, Ben and Joanie for the yummy food and for all the effort putting the picnic together. We had a wonderful day and the margarita's at the end of the day were much needed...ha ha! We do enjoy our visits to Phoenix!

Of course, Peyton does not like to have clothes on so she decided to run around the park with just her shorts. She had so much fun playing in the sand. That is not normal for me to let her get that dirty BUT we were on vacation so it was nice to see her have some fun!

Keeping Busy with SPORTS!

We were excited for Parker to start Baseball. He is on a new team again which is the PADRES. Parker is a left handed pitcher for the team, one of three pitchers. He is on a great team this year with a coach that is quite into it. He finally returned with some of the kids he originally started with when he was in t-ball. I cannot believe how many great players are on this team. It is going to be a great season to watch...NOW it GET'S COMPETITIVE!

Well the whole family was there for opening day (including Curious George) and the girls enjoyed meeting a mascot from the semi pro team called the POWER. Peyton actually wanted to sit on his lap....that was a Surprise!! You'll also notice in the background a marine corps marching band playing. It was a great way to start the season!!

Here is Bailey and her friend Cassidy at a tournament in Anaheim. Desert Heat won all of their games that day. We have thouroughly enjoyed watching Volleyball. Even Joe says that he very much looks forward to the kids games. It's funny sometimes to think of the change we have made in Joe's life. From zero to three kids in a very short time with weekends full of activities, sports and stuff. It's so funny because the kid's call him their personal driver....we joke about it but it's partially true. We are so happy to have such a wonderful Dad....Thanks Joe for all that you do!!

Peyton loves watching her sis and bo bo play. Believe me, it's very hard to keep her off the volleyball court. Thank God for all the fences in Baseball!

Our Weekend with Friends!

Yes, you are not seeing things! This is Toni Romo and Jessica Simpson. Tony and his family are long time friends of the Dahlstroms and they came out to play some golf. I was fortunate enough to meet them and spend some time with them that weekend. Both are very humble and a joy to spend time with.

Here are some of Joe's friends back from Wisconsin. What a nice group of guys. They came out to the desert to play some golf unfortunately there were some rainy days.

Valentine's Day 2008

The three Munchkins! I think it was a little early to take a picture they all look half asleep but I of course have to capture these moments right!

Here is Peyton and Parker seperating all there treats from Valentine's Day. They are both at the age that Valentine's Day is still so much fun. Parker is my little budman, he still loves the holidays and something tells me he still believes in the tooth fairy. Or maybe it's just because if he doesn't believe he won't get the money...ha ha! I am grateful that my children stayed children longer and didn't grow up too fast!!

Here is Miss Peyton with her favorite pal, "CURIOUS GEORGE". Okay Mrs. Phillips (Mia), I am sorry we finally got rid of the blankie at school and now we have a new friend! Thanks for being so understanding and such a wonderful preschool teacher and friend. You and Miss Whitis are the best!

Holidays are so much more enjoyable to see the excitement it brings to the kids. Our family has truly been blessed!
